ESD Control Programma

ElectroStatic Discharge (ESD) Control has high priority at Alturna Networks. All product tests are performed in our state of the art ESD secured testing facilities. Handling, storage and packaging is done conform the guidelines of the Alturna Networks ESD Control Program. To achieve the highest standards of ESD Control, Alturna Networks cooperates with Nefab, a global and leading provider of complete packaging solutions, mainly in the automotive and telecom industries. Nefab is a member of the American ESD Association. ESD experts from Nefab-Bijl have trained our ESD coordinator, helped to form our test facilities into an ESD Protected Area (EPA) and helped to design the Alturna Networks ESD Control Program.

The Alturna Networks ESD Control Program

• ESD sensitive products are handled only in an ESD Protected Area (EPA).
• In the EPA all conductors (including persons) are kept on the same potential.
• There are no “common” (charge generating) plastics in the EPA.
• On essential insulative materials electrostatic charges are neutralized by the use of ionisation.
• All ESD sensitive products are surrounded with ESD safe packaging materials, except when they are being actively worked on in the EPA.

Nefab has also provided Alturna Networks with a complete range of shielding, conductive and low charging dissipative packaging products. Our packaging line for the inner packaging consists of:

• Cortronic Shielding Corrugated Carton:Cortronic features effective ESD safe packaging for electronics. The ESD shielding layer is integrated in the corrugated structure. Superior protection for your PCB.
• Dissipative Foam:Alturna Networks uses dissipative pink foam. It does not contain carbon but offers conductivity to prevent ESD damage. It provides superior protection against physical shock, vibration and abrasion in both in-plant handling and shipping.
• Static Shielding Bags:Static Shielding bags have been designed for ESD safe packaging of PCBs. They protect against ESD and electrostatic fields.

ElectroStatic Discharge (ESD) Control heeft hoge prioriteit binnen Alturna Networks. Alle producten worden getest in onze “State of the Art” ESD veilige testfaciliteiten. Handling, opslag en verpakking vinden plaats conform de richtlijnen van het Alturna Networks ESD Control Program. Om aan de hoogste eisen op het gebied van ESD veiligheid te voldoen, werkt Alturna Networks samen met Nefab, een wereldwijde en toonaangevende leverancier van verpakkingsoplossingen voor voornamelijk de automotive en telecom industrie. Nefab is lid van de American ESD Association. ESD deskundigen van Nefab-Bijl hebben onze ESD coördinator getraind en hebben ons begeleid bij het proces om onze testfaciliteiten tot een ESD Protected Area (EPA) om te vormen. Zij waren tevens nauw betrokken bij het ontwerp van het Alturna Networks ESD Control Programma.

Het Alturna Networks ESD Control Programma

• ESD gevoelige producten worden uitsluitend gehandled binnen het EPA (ESD Protected Area).
• Binnen het EPA worden alle geleiders (inclusief personen) op hetzelfde potentieel gehouden.
• Er zijn geen “normale”, lading genererende, plastics aanwezig binnen de EPA.
• Op essentiële isolerende materialen worden elektrostatische ladingen geneutraliseerd door ionisatie.
• Alle ESD gevoelige producten zijn continu verpakt in ESD veilige verpakkingsmaterialen, behalve wanneer er actief aan deze producten gewerkt wordt.

Nefab heeft Alturna Networks voorzien van een compleet assortiment aan afschermende, geleidende en lading dissipatieve veiligheidsverpakking.

Onze verpakkingslijn voor de binnenverpakking bestaat uit:

• Cortronic Shielding Corrugated Carton: Cortronic karton heeft speciale eigenschappen die het ESD-veilig maakt voor elektronica. De ESD afschermlaag is geïntegreerd in de golfkartonstructuur. Het biedt superieure bescherming voor uw PCB.
• Dissipatief roze PE schuim: Alturna Networks maakt gebruik van geleidend (roze) schuim. Het bevat geen koolstof, maar biedt geleiding om schade door ESD te voorkomen. Tevens biedt het een uitstekende bescherming tegen schokken en trillingen tijdens handling en transport.
• Static Shielding zakken: Deze zijn ontwikkeld voor het verpakken van ESD gevoelige printplaten en componenten. Ze beschermen hun inhoud tegen ESD en elektrostatische velden.
